World Viewer

by Brent Johnson

This Widget is a more generic camera viewer. The Widget is shipped with camera files from around the world. When you first run the Widget it will ask you where you want to store the camera files. Once chosen it will copy the camera files shipped. To view cameras from another location, right-click (control-click on a Mac if you don't have a two button mouse) on the Widget and select "Change Location". Thanks for the feedback. Yep, I don't know XML, so I'm a bit out of luck, however your thought about 'adding a camera' is a welcome one. Maybe in your next release.

    Cheers and great app!!!

Pat: I see, there *is* no existing KC widget. The importer is designed to import camera data from other widgets. If you'd like to see cameras for KC you can add your own "Kansas City.xml" file to the cameras directory. You'll need to know a little XML, but you can use one of the other camera files as a guide.

I'm also thinking of having a "Add New Camera" popup that'll allow you to specify the URL for the cam image and a description. This would allow someone to build their own cam file without having to know XML.

Pat: If you'd like to import the Kansas City cams you *should* just be able to download the KC widget, run it, and it should appear in the list in the conversion popup. Make sure you're running the KC widget from it's .widget file and not from a folder. Are you on a Mac for Windows platform?

The next version will allow you to drag a .widget file into the World Viewer to import.

scott: Thanks! Yeah using XML config file just seemed like a good idea.

Very nice, however I'm not sure how to import other cameras easily. For example... Kansas City is not listed and I'm not sure how to add cams (from the web) to the list.

Cheers and Great work. Maybe next release can have an easy importer.
