Believe me, this is all very nice, and I want to use it. But without Cout Down (as others have mentioned) WHAT IS THE POINT?!?

What I cannot believe is that your engendering target use didn't lead you to countdown. Most conferences I have gone to and spoken at give you 1 hour (or whatever) and it would be great to have a Count Down of how much time I have LEFT. You have such a nice look. If you went with Count Down, again, for speakers, you could set the Count Down for 1 hour, then have a (…traffic light) green background at the beginning, then you can have it set to change to a (traffic light) yellow at a designated time (say 10 minutes) and then (traffic light) red background at a designated time (say 1 minute). All three of these times would be customizable (and if you got fancy, so could the background colors -- where green-yellow-red are defaults). In your Fully Screen mode, the Conference Organizer could have a separate laptop facing the presenter with the Countdown showing!

However, for most people it is timing something, usually down: workout time, hour worked on a project, etc.

I am using "IronMan Countdown" and entering a "Custom Event" for 3 hours from now -- because that is when I have to stop working for my "outside client" and start working at my fulltime job (as telecommuter). I could use something else (phone calendar) but the idea of a widget is that it is quick and simple and it does something useful.

Most days I get to spend 2 hours on this project then 3 hours on another and then I can work on a third (preferred) project until I drop (where I would use count up).

I am not angry, I am very grateful to you for writing this. However, I am also flummoxed that you won't drop whatever you are doing to add the code for countdown right away... or maybe offer the code up to others to enhance?... More

This is perferct for what I was looking for. I'm a database developer and needed a timer to use to see how long it would take an application to run. I works perfectly. With the full screen option on my second monitor, the other guys can see from accross the office how my code is superior to theirs.

I also like it, but do miss a countdown function.
And what drives me crazy, is that the ":" are blinking wildly!
That's bugging one constantly after the first seconds, should be optional!
