Hi kyscubadiver. I'm the widget author.

It's strange that you can close or hide the widget but not display preferences. I've looked in the code and found nothing that would get in the way of that. If you can display preferences for other widgets (using the small round gear button from the dock icons) you should be able to do the same with One Butterfly.
If you hide the dock (using "Close Dock" from the engine menu) you can acces the preferences from the engine menu (right …click on the 2 gears icon in the tray). There should be a "Widget Preferences" menu item that has a submenu containing the names of the opened widgets. Clicking on them should display the preferences for the related widget (at least on Windows - I'm not sure it behaves the same on a Mac).

I just have one problem:
I can't get to preferences. I can close it, hide it, and all of the other things but i can't get to preferances, and it's too fast to catch. I tried using the dock to get to preferences, but even that wouldn't work! Could you help me out?!?
Even so, I rated it 4 stars. I really enjoy my widjet!

i LOVE this butterfly its so realistic and looks great with the nature theme on my computer. i was wondering if there was a way to have more than just one? and is a dragonfly a possibility?

I'm really sorry to hear about your problem. I tend to believe that this issue is not generated by the widget itself. Of course, I could be wrong, but I can't think of a reason for it to produce such a blocking effect. It may be a combination of factors, includind an incompatibility between the widget engine and the screensaver, or even the system...
I do need more informations in order to reproduce or try to understand this bug.
Does this happen only with… the One Butterfly widget? In what operating system do you run the Yahoo! Widget Engine? What version of Y!WE do you have? Does this happen when the screensaver starts or when the computer goes in standby mode?...

i am new to widgets & i was looking for some that went with my personality. i dwnloaded the one butterfly widget cause i thought it was cool. what i didn't think was cool was when i came in to my computer & was looking at a blank screen. the computer was on, but my screensavers weren't on the screen, the mouse had died, & none of the keys worked to get me up & running again. i'd have to push the button on my CPU & then that little box would come up asking what i w…anted to do; stand by, shut down, or restart. i'd always have 2 restart my computer. but then within a few hours, the same thing would happen. i finally just deleted the one butterfly widget. nowthings are working as they should. More
