Something Widget World didn't point out about the 'delete and redownload' method is that you feeds are not forgotten. So don't worry about having to redo dozens of feeds just to update.
Or at least thats how it worked for me, I suppose it could very well be different for other users.

WidgetWorldphil_2_grainger: The dock provides the ability to "hide" a widget in the Heads-Up Only display. Simply right click the dock icon and select "Hide Widget" and the widget will only appear when you switch to Heads-Up Only mode.

wildamnesiathis widget saves me spending 30p a day on a newspaper. after 40 years it will eventually save me nearly £1,500 and that's pretty cool.
