Monitor Off
Monitor Off puts your monitor on standby with a click. A simple move of the mouse or keyboard press will wake up the computer in a few seconds.
Click on the icon to put your monitor to sleep. Hold down CTRL key to move the Widget around.
A typical 17" CRT monitor consumes 80 watts electricity; putting it on on standby reduces it to about 0-15 watts. Setting computer monitors to Power Save Mode saves money, electricity and reduces carbon dioxide emissions. After all, money isn't all you're saving.

September 02, 2006 · version 1.0 JozerWorx@Dave, you can't turn one or the other monitor off, what this widget does is activate Windows' "turn monitors off to save power" feature. Even if you could turn one monitor off and not the other, both monitors turn on as soon as you move the mouse.
Great widget! Great idea, simple execution, just what I like. If you are planning on doing another version, you could consider having a user seletable image for the icon, size and opacity controls, etc...
