Monitor Off
Monitor Off puts your monitor on standby with a click. A simple move of the mouse or keyboard press will wake up the computer in a few seconds.
Click on the icon to put your monitor to sleep. Hold down CTRL key to move the Widget around.
A typical 17" CRT monitor consumes 80 watts electricity; putting it on on standby reduces it to about 0-15 watts. Setting computer monitors to Power Save Mode saves money, electricity and reduces carbon dioxide emissions. After all, money isn't all you're saving.

I think it is not possible. WMP always overides windows power scheme. Your option is either turn off the monitor using the monitor switch itself or you could do what I do... use Winamp, way better than WMP.

Abelardo this is very useful. Is it possible to add an option to lock the monitor in the off position? So instead of re-activating the monitor with the mouse you could only do so with a hot key combination. The reason is everytime WMP changes to a new track it turns on the monitor. Just a thought.
