I suggest you consult a hardware calculator and see what kind of answers you get. And do not quote Windows' calculator at me, because, puhlease. Windows. I mean, really.

I also suggest you look up your grade-school maths teacher and talk to them about this software that you've written and ask them what they think. A calculator shouldn't evaluate from left to right, because neither should a person. Do you really think a person should have to enter the equation:

a + b * c + d * e + f…

into your calculator as:

b * c = [M+]
d * e =
+ [MR]
+ a
+ f
=

Feh. Any calculator worth its pixels would do it correctly when entered it in as written, and wouldn't rely on the Memory feature, just to perform arithmetic. In regards to the order of operations discussions below:

1) This is a SIMPLE calculator. It does the operations in the order YOU ENTER THEM IN. If you enter 1 + 2 * 3, you WILL get 9 because you ENTERED THE CALCULATION IN THAT ORDER.

2) If you want proper order of operations, THEN ENTER IT CORRECTLY. You should know the order yourself, and so should enter it as: 2 * 3 + 1 to get 7.

There is nothing incorrect about this simple calculator… (nor Windows' version). If you want further proof, go enter 1 + 2 * 3 in every single calculator you can find.

Only in programming languages (interpreted or compiled) does the order get automatically parsed, in which case the order of operations becomes important.

In either case, you should either change the order manually or use parenthesis to remove all doubt. More

Pretty Good, but there are two things I would fix:
1. change so it can be operated by the keyboard as well as mouse.
2. make it always viewed, not contracted.
