The DropMover Widget displays a keypad, which can be used to move or copy files and folders to specified folders, or to open applications, data files and web pages.

Each key of the keypad can have a destination folder, application file, data file or url associated with it. Files or folders dropped onto the key are moved or copied to the destination folder or passed to the associated application.

DropMover has seven keypad layouts of increasing complexity. Each has its own settings which are pr More

paul: Thanks for the comment. The freezing you report (which occurs only on Windows) was introduced when I had to change the way applications were started on Windows. As I don't have a Windows system that runs Yahoo! Widgets, I missed the problem.

There is a beta of version 3.8 at http://tinyurl.com/29fm3c which should fix the problem.

The original version of DropMover was probably made in August 2005. The phone keypad was added with the WebImages and ImageView features probably in 2007.

    Hi Merlin,
Thanks so much for such a useful widget! Works like a charm for me (WinXP) when I'm assigning a folder or a URL to a button. Click, drag-and-drop-- all seems to work perfectly. BUT... when I assign an .exe application (Word, etc.), I see the correct icon on the button, but the button appears to do nothing. Whether click, double-click, drag-and-drop... seems to just ignore me. Any ideas?

Again, thanks for an otherwise VERY helpful widget!

SethF: I don't have a Windows system that runs Yahoo! Widgets so this is just a guess.

The Widget Engine does not allow any access to files in the C:\WINDOWS directory. It should really just prevent write access. I don't think there is a simple work around.

If your .exe application is in the C:\WINDOWS directory, that may be the explanation.
Have you tried assigning and running applications that are located in other directories?
If that works, can you run a copy of Word (etc) from another directory?
