It doesn't do anything, it's just a picture. The lights don't even change, like on the right date.

(Btw, "terrrifictiger," try right-clicking on the widget, making sure the cursor is right on a candle, letter or greenery, and then choose "widget preferences," and you'll see you can choose the week of Advent, which will light the correct number of candles.
